Please join us for our  2016 Camp Taifa is “Be Like A Tree: Sacred Trees of the Bible” on July 5-8, 2016 each evening at 6:00 p.m.  They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.  Jeremiah 17:8 Our Camp focus is on the trees in the Bible, their meaning, uses for healing and understanding the sacred texts. We will also learn about the trees in our own park! Use the Camp registration form and the Msaidia (assistant’s) form to register and/or offer your help with the camp.

Fawohodie symbol

Fawohodie is an adinkra symbol which translates as: “Independence comes with its responsibilities.”  In the spirit of Ubuntu, and as a community of African people, we embrace the responsibility of caring for those who are incarcerated and their families. Likewise, we desire to participate in their successful re-entry to the larger society.  If you are interested in working with us as we develop this ministry, please see Rev. Carlton Johnson, Elder Jihad Uhuru, or Bro. James Costen.
