The Youth Ministry would like to thank all parents of our Children and Youth for making Youth Sunday a success. We love to have our youth fellowship together after service for a time of affirmation and reflection. We do not want to exclude any child/youth so we are asking all parents for a donation of $5.00 to help defray the costs of refreshments for our Youth. Please see Deacon Sharon Munajj or Deacon Andrea Keith for more information. Thank you!
Things Change. Many of you have already been contacted by church leadership regarding our listening campaign. If you have not, please be sure we have your updated contact information. Please email fapc@firstafrikanchurch.org and type “Address Update” on the Subject line or fill out a change of address card located in the Narthex. Leave the card in the offering basket or give it to one of the ushers.
Fawohodie is an adinkra symbol which translates as: “Independence comes with its responsibilities.” In the spirit of Ubuntu, and as a community of African people, we embrace the responsibility of caring for those who are incarcerated and their families. Likewise, we desire to participate in their successful re-entry to the larger society. If you are interested in working with us as we develop this ministry, please see Rev. Carlton Johnson, Elder Jihad Uhuru, or Bro. James Costen.
