First Afrikan Family, this is the last week of the seventeen week campaign for “Burn the Mortgage” and we are within reach of our goal of $17,000.00. Thank you for your gifts and offering toward this wonderful cause and with your help today, we can go over the top in achieving our goal. Come prepared to contribute $10.00 over and above your tithe and regular offering or whatever you can give to help us celebrate burning the mortgage at the Vanessa Gail Knight Educational Building.
The Deacon Board will be providing food boxes to needy families for the Thanksgiving Holiday TODAY. Please see Deacons Andrea Keith, Sharon Munajj or Lynne Young after worship service in the community room.

2014 Church Anniversary, Sunday December 14, 2014 Please mark your calendars as we set the charge: “Soul Circles-Stay Connected”. This anniversary celebration launches our all-out effort and church focus for 2015 to stay connected-Connected to Our Faith, Our Work and Our Community. If you are interested in assisting with the preparations for a year of reconnecting, please see Elders Carlton Williams or William Keith to express your interest.
2014 Community Kwanzaa hosted by First Afrikan Church will be on Sunday, December 28, 2014. We are recruiting you to assist us with an afternoon of children’s Kwanzaa activities and an evening of cultural extravagant! Our Kwanzaa celebration will take place at the Lou Walker Center. Details on all of the Kwanzaa festivities will be forthcoming. Please make sure we have an updated email for you by emailing us at the church so that we can keep you up to date about this and all church related functions. Elders Mehib Holmes and Itihari Toure are contacts for Kwanzaa.

Greetings, I am a member of the P.I.L.O.T. (Preparing Innovative Leaders of Tomorrow) Program (Director, Mrs. Sandy Purkett-Redan High School) and our goal for the 2014-2015 school year is to collect 1500 pairs of SOLES – gently used shoes (children, youth, teens, adults) to distribute to needy families.
