Parents, please bring your Children, Youth, and Teens (CYTs) out to choir rehearsal on Sunday December 14th, immediately after the worship service and Sunday December 21st (9:00 a.m.) in preparation for our 3rd Sunday Youth Services. We would like our CYTs to experience being a part of their worship service (acolyte, liturgist, prayer etc.) so please bring them as we prepare for this special time of ministering. Parents, do your child play a musical instrument, dance, do spoken word – any performance in school? Min. Bennett would like to incorporate their gifts in our Youth Sunday services. Please join us for our next Debt Free Class “Start the Plan” on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 4:00pm. The Hot Topic discussion will be with Ms. Millicent Frazier & Ms. Erica Jones. They will discuss ACA and how to get coverage. She will also be discussing the tax penalty if you don’t get any coverage; informing you on how the government may provide assistance for certain population with income issues or specific qualifications.
Please join us for our last New Members Class of 2014 on Saturday, December 20th at 10am-3pm. RSVP to the church office ASAP so we can have an accurate number for our preparation of class materials and meals (continental breakfast and lunch).

Our Winter Bible Study begins with the course study: The Person of Yeshua/Jesus, our Afrikan Messiah. This study focus is on the person of Yeshua and designed to acquaint the First Afrikan faith community and friends with the Jesus of scripture and the Jesus of history. It pushes beyond the many assumptions about who Jesus was and is and uses both the Bible and contemporary scholarship to reinvestigate the life, work, and faith of a North East Afrikan peasant who became known as the Son of God. Classes 1pm & 7pm for Wednesdays and following worship service on Sundays:

2014 Community Kwanzaa hosted by First Afrikan Church will be on Sunday, December 28, 2014. We are recruiting you to assist us with an afternoon of children’s Kwanzaa activities and an evening of cultural extravagant! Our Kwanzaa celebration will take place at the Lou Walker Center. Details on all of the Kwanzaa festivities will be forthcoming. Please make sure we have an updated email for you by emailing us at the church so that we can keep you up to date about this and all church related functions. Greetings from the City of Lithonia! Hope that you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! You are invited to join us for the Annual Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 7th from 5 to 6 pm at Kelly Park in Lithonia. Come celebrate the Holiday Season and enjoy some hot chocolate and cider! We will be visited by Santa Dee and have Christmas carolers, so don’t miss it!
JIHAD presents “Dark Horse Assassin: Rise of the Messiah” A book signing with Author Jihad Uhuru on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at First Afrikan Church at 6:00pm in the Community Room. The book not only does Dark Horse Assassin espouse the liberation through education and knowledge of self-teachings of First Afrikan and features Dr. Lomas as a key character and highlights the church. The book signing will also include a reading from author Jihad Uhuru.
