Season of Birth Bible Study   (Wednesdays, February 10-April 13, 2016) 1:00 p.m. (lunch served at 12:30 p.m.) and 7:00 p.m. (dinner served at 6:30 p.m.) “Go Tell It—Witnessing Work—Giving Evidence to the Worthiness of Our Faith, Our Families and Our Fight”  Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  This Bible Study series is designed to equip participants with Biblical stories that speak to our responsibility to internalize God’s purpose and share it to others (Bearing Witness).  The study situates the practice of witnessing in the different contexts of our Bible, our family, our church life and our global struggle for liberation. Please complete the registration flyer and leave downstairs in the basket in the community room or in the narthex.  Study Binders & Meal for adults $20.00 & Children $5.00 for the entire series. Participants will engage in witnessing work through multiple mediums including oral and written, photographic and digital.  If you have a smart phone, bring it to the class sessions.

Parents: (Ayodele)-Children, Youth and Teens Choir will rehearse every 2nd Sunday immediately after worship service and 9am on 3rd Sundays commencing February 14th, 2016.  Please contact coordinators Elder Pauline Marshall & Min. African people it’s planning time for the “2016 FAC Youth Lock-In” (April 22nd & 23rd) and we need your gifts, talents, and participation to help make this year’s Lock-In incredible for our youth.  Our first planning meeting will be held in the Vanessa Knight Educational Building after service on Sunday, February 14th. In October 2015, the moderator of the Presbyterian Church USA, Dr. Heath Rada, issued a denomination-wide Call to Action – urging Presbyterians to take bold and immediate steps to reform the church and rebuild trust among its members. Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary (JCSTS), with the support of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, we will host the first stop of anation-widetour.  The event will take place on Friday, March 4 at 7:00pm at The First Afrikan Presbyterian Church at 5197 Salem Rd, Lithonia, GA 30038 where Rev. Dr. Mark “Ogunwale” Lomax is pastor. Dinner will be served beginning at 6:00pm. Guest Readers will share their favorite books with children in celebration of Black History Month every Saturday in February at four different libraries each Saturday:

The 25th Annual Malcolm X Banquet will be held Saturday, February 20, 2015 at 7p.m. at Paschal’s Restaurant, 180B Northside Drive, Atlanta, Georgia. The keynote speaker will be Newspaper columnist and community organizer, Jamala Rogers. The Kujichagulia Award will be presented to Ahmed Obafemi . The Ujima Award will be presented to Nobantu Ankoanda.
