“The First Afrikan family will celebrate our 24th Church Anniversary on Sunday, December 11th at 10:00 am. God continues to bless our family! The anniversary theme ” Wake up, Re-member, Re-store and Re-calibrate” will allow us to honor God, our ancestors and connect with our inter-generational family.  Over the past 23 years First Afrikan Church has cultivated an identity and purpose for the Black community of Metro Atlanta.  First African is known as an “African centered, socially conscious and justice focused church; and for empowering men, women, youth and children to lead in the church, community and the world.  We have accomplished much but our work is unfinished. The anniversary will move us in an intentional and concrete way to place our youth and young adults in the center of our experience.  So, go out and tell somebody about this upcoming celebration.  Please contact Elders Bria Patterson or Don Phoenix for more information.”

There will be a meeting of the newly revived Health and Environment Ministry Sunday November 20th following the 10 o’clock service in the Fellowship Hall downstairs or VKB. All persons interested in improving our health and protecting the environment in the church, the community and the world, are welcome to attend. See Dr. Jewel Crawford.

Thanksgiving Meals for Needy Families:  The Deacon Board will be providing bags of food to needy families for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Please see Deacon Sharon Munajj or Deacon Lynn Young  only if you have registered to receive a bag TODAY following the 10am service in the Community room.

Please join us for our annual Community Worship Service on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 7pm. FAC will host, Big Miller Choir will sing and Rev. McCallister Hollins, pastor of Ousley United Methodist Church will be the speaker for the evening.

Community Announcements:

Congratulations to Tawanna Morgan, as she celebrates the first anniversary of her own firm, MA’AT LAW Practice of Tawanna Morgan LLC, which specializes in personal injury and criminal defense.  The transition from senior associate at The Davis Bozeman Law Firm to being a solo practitioner has indeed been a faith-walk. Tawanna couldn’t have made it this far without her FAC family.

The City of Lithonia invites you to The Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 20th at 6 pm, at Lithonia First United Methodist Church, 3099 Stone Mountain Street.
