Be sure to join our music ministry Sunday, June 29th.The Music Ministry will then host a Summer
Musical at 3:30 PM. We have invited several musical guests and local church choirs, so please help us
give them a First Afrikan welcome as together we praise God through music and song. We look forward
to our first musical and hope you will support the music ministry in this endeavor. Sunday will begin with
our Men’s Choir singing for our Sunday morning worship service. (Rehearsal for the Men’s choir

The Taste of Caribbean’s Africentric Fashion Show is looking for models and fashion designers

Camp Taifa July 7- July 10, 2014. Please register and join us for our annual vacation Bible school
experience. It is called “Camp Taifa” which means nation because of the study emphasis on the books of
the Old Testament and, the books of the New Testament. If you desire a basic understanding of the
Bible in a family setting, Camp Taifa is for you. Registration begins Sunday, June 1, 2014

The Voter Empowerment Collaborative (VEC) cordially invites you to participate in its 2014
Candidates Forum. All persons who qualified in the Run-Off for the DeKalb County Sheriff, School
Board Districts 3, 4, 5, and State School Superintendent Seats have been invited. The forum will be
held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, at First Afrikan Presbyterian Church located at
5197 Salem Road, Lithonia, Georgia 30038. The church telephone number is (770) 981-2601 and
Rev. Dr. Mark Lomax is the Senior Pastor. We will start and end on time. The purpose of the forum
is to allow the public to hear the views of the candidates. A brief question and answer period will follow.
This is a non-partisan event and is open to the public.

Our Children, Our Stories on First Sundays at First Afrikan! NEEDED: Storytellers and Story Readers
to share with and read to Our Children (5-12 year olds) downstairs during morning service on First
Sundays. Books are available in the CFABS office or bring your own. If you haven’t completed Boundary

Tana Dhari is Swahili (to be on one’s guard) our ministry needs you. We have been charged to
protect this church and or families with in it. We need sisters, brothers, elders, youth and you. We work on
our physical and mental fortitude. Please come out to our meetings at the church 10 am 1st and 3rd
Saturdays of each month.
