SUMMARY:Worship Services & Congregational Meeting
DESCRIPTION:\n\n&nbsp\;\nJoin | Invite | Share\n10:00 am Worship Services\n
 Facebook Live\nYouTube Streaming\n\n\n\nFall-Winter 2025 Sermon and Study
Series\nHope Rising: Restoring the Afrikan Spirit\nThe focus of this sermo
n series is hope. It builds on the previous theme of faith. Hope is the fl
ower of faith. Hope is not passive waiting – it is a sacred act of resis
tance\, faith and creative restoration. For African people\, hope has alwa
ys been a communal power that fuels survival\, liberation\, and renewal.\n
\nHope is sacred resistance – the divine power that enables African peop
le to rise\, rebuild\, and rejoice through every trial. Hope is not escapi
sm. It is the breath of God renewing the people and the world. It is built
into creation itself\; it is God’s gift to humanity\, the divine energy
that transforms darkness into purpose.\n\nThis sermon series also address
es the Nguzo Saba\, the seven principles of Kwanzaa to demonstrate that ho
pe and faith are cultural as well as spiritual values. We do not have to c
hoose between faith and culture because true African spirituality accommod
ates every aspect of human beingness. Ntu\, the life giving\, life renewin
g\, life sustaining spirit\, is in everything and everyone simultaneously.
The Nguzo Saba provides healthy and self-affirming ways for African peopl
es to live harmoniously and healthily in a world that fails to honor Afric
an humanity.\n\nFinally\, we dub this series “Hope Rising” as a remind
er that one of the greatest acts of resistance to our collective determina
tion to survive and thrive is hope.\n\n\nSermon: Sunday\, November 2\nSerm
