ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Sacred Conversations: #blacklivesmatter. For the month of December, we are focusing our sacred conversations on the grief associated with police brutality and violence. These short, 20-30 minute conversations can, and often do, honor the value of diverse life experiences, requiring an openness to hear each others’ viewpoints. As we approach 2015, we encourage you to engage someone outside the four walls of the church in conversations centered around sermon topics. For more information, please see one of our Elders or Deacons.
The Eagle Scout Project is completed in First Afrikan Park. Have a seat in the park and enjoy. Guy James II is thankful for the assistance of the Creation Care Ministry and the scouts from Troup 724: Sean Holmes (Eagle Scout), Anthony Gordon Jr (Eagle Scout), Joshua Gordon and Kaba Jackson. Guy James II would also like to thank those members who gave donations toward the project.
Parents, please bring your Children, Youth, and Teens (CYTs) out to choir rehearsal on Sunday December 14th, immediately after the worship service and Sunday December 21st (9:00 a.m.) in preparation for our 3rd Sunday Youth Services. Young Adults are also welcome. For more information contact Elder Pauline Marshall, Min. Rhonda Jones and Min. Bennett.
Parents, do your child play a musical instrument, dance, do spoken word – any performance in school? Min. Bennett would like to incorporate their gifts in our Youth Sunday services. Please join us during rehearsals as we continue to plan and use the gifts of our children to bless others. Young Adults are also welcome. For more information contact Elder Pauline Marshall, Min.
