Mrs. Rose McCant, stepmom of Sis. Angela Reid made her transition. Mrs. McCant service was held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at College Heights Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, NC.

Ancestral Walk Bottle Tree…it came to our attention that some of you either did not get a blue bottle from the ancestral walk. For those in the transition bottle was misplaced or removed, please come downstairs and receive the blue bottle. This is only for persons who attended and in the movement lost it.

Prayer CDs—if you signed and took a prayer cd, please leave the five dollars with Elder Charlene or Elder Itihari. There are more prayer cps available for purchase in the prayer room.

To all First Afrikan members: the nominating committee will select new deacons and elders for nomination to the congregation. New deacons and elders will begin service in 2016. If you are interested in serving as a deacon or an elder, applications are available in the Narthex. First Afrikan Church’s Anniversary: It’s our 22nd anniversary and our theme says it best, “Go Tell Somebody”. Tickets to our commemorative banquet are available for $35.00. Children under the age of 12 $10. Our banquet will be held at the Community Achievement Center, 4522 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, at 6:00 pm on December 12th. After 22 years in Atlanta and some 20 years as a member of First Afrikan Presbyterian Church. On November 18, 2015, I will be on my way to Dallas Texas. 2015 AIDS Walk Atlanta scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2015.   I would love your support!

Please consider joining in on the walk or donating. Both can be accomplished on the team website (http://2015aidswalkatlanta.kintera.org/raceagainsthivaids). There is a small cost of $10 associated with registration. Also, the team has a goal of raising $500 for Atlanta-based HIV/AIDS non-profits. Kilombo Academic and Cultural Institute was born out of the collective vision of First Afrikan Church. A small group of us began meeting in the fellowship hall over 14 years ago. Kilombo is now an accredited private school. We focus on academic excellence, cultural relevance and spiritual wellness. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary, Nov. 14, 2015 at Paschal’s. Our theme is: Teaching our children for Self-Determination: Black Lives Matter! Dr. Joyce King is our keynote speaker.
