AIDS Walk Atlanta, Sunday, October 22, 2017, African Americans account for almost half of newly diagnosed HIV infections. African Americans in the South represent more than 60% of newly diagnosed HIV infections in the region. Many of these new cases are concentrated in Atlanta. This issue impacts all of us. Driving down the rates of HIV & AIDS in our community will require a collective effort. The Department of African-American Studies at GSU continues to raise funds to support AIDS advocacy work through the annual AIDS Walk Atlanta.  Please walk with us to help fight HIV & AIDS. The $10 registration fee covers your participation. If you are unable to walk, but want to give, please do. Registration and donations may be submitted through our team website (http://events.aidatlanta.org/site/TR/Walk/General?team_id=1221&pg=team&fr_id=1040). Thanks for your community uplift. Contact Lisa R. Shannon with any questions, lshannon2@gsu.edu.
