ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Youth Ministry would like to thank all the parents of our Children and Youth for making Youth Sunday a success. We love to have our youth fellowship together after service for a time of reflection. We do not want to exclude any child/youth. We are asking all parents for a donation of at least $5.00 to help defray the costs of the refreshments for our Youth. Please see Deacon Sharon Munajj or Deacon Andrea Keith.
Conversations on Afrikan Spirit 2015: “From Ashe to Amen-Afrikan Roots of Our Worship” Every Wednesday in May at noon and at 6:30 pm Join us for a meal, film and discussion on the Afrikan spirituality embedded in our worship experience. Children films and discussion at the evening sessions only. Downstairs in front of the CFABS office, please sign up and get your ticket for $7.00 each session or discount of $20.00 for all four sessions. Every adult ticket also pays for one child! So our children eat for free.
“On Sunday May 24th, First Afrikan Church will be celebrating our first Great Day of Giving. We are asking each family to make a sacrificial offering of $250 over and beyond their normal tithes and offering. This sacrificial offering will continue to provide financial stability as we move into our summer months.”

Mark Your Calendars–June is Nsaa (Excellence)!!! Families and friends please plan to submit your child’s, relative or extended family member’s academic and/or cultural achievements. We will recognize each group of achieving students on the second, third and fourth Sunday in June, 28, 2015. Pre-school and Elementary on the second Sunday, Middle Grades and High School on the Third Sunday. This year our theme connects persons in our immediate family (living and ancestral) to our achievements. We never achieve excellence all by ourselves. “Because of Them, We Can” asks each Nsaa recipient to name the persons in their immediate family that “made a way” for their achievements. Look to post your application on the FAC website or email it to the church.
