Kwanza-Principle-UJIMA The Ujima Men’s Ministry is going fishing at Sweet Water Park on Saturday, 06/25/2016 from 9:00AM until, the Ujima Men are planning a fishing trip to Sweet Water Park.  Fishing licenses and a park entry fee will be required. Ujima will sponsor fishing license for up to 15 boys.  Fishing licenses and bait are available at the park. A sign-up sheet for the fishing trip will be available in the Narthex for the upcoming fishing trip.  If you plan to attend please sign up and show how many boys you will be bringing with you”.You will also need to sign the authorization form for the boys that you will be bringing with you.  Ujima points of contact are Brother Curtis Grier and Elder Lucius Gundy.

 

 

 

 

Nsaa-Application_2016_Page_1Nsaa Sunday is June 26, 2016 at both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. worship services.  Our 2016 theme:  “Our Baobab Tree: Black Educational Institutions” Based in the Book of Revelations 22:1-5 Nasa Sunday honors the tradition of institution building from the 1860s Sabbath Schools, Historically Black Colleges and Independent African Centered Schools of the 60s, 70s, and today. Dr. Kofi Lomotey, Distinguished professor of Educational Leadership at Western University, former president of two HBCUs, and co-founder of the Council of Independent Black Institutions (CIBI) is our Community Nsaa recipient and presenter of the occasion is our guest in conversation with Rev. Our 2016 Camp Taifa is “Be Like A Tree: Sacred Trees of the Bible” for July 5-8, 2016 each evening at 6:00 p.m.  They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.  Jeremiah 17:8  Our Camp focus is on the trees in the Bible, their meaning, uses for healing and understanding the sacred texts. We will also learn about the trees in our own park! Use the Camp registration form and the Msaidia (assistant’s) form to register and/or offer your help with the camp.  Want to learn more about the camp experience? Afrientation for persons interested in attending or helping will be after either the 8:00a.m. or 10:00 a.m. services on Sunday, June 26, 2016  in the Vanessa Knight Building.
