COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The State of Georgia is in the process of revising the social studies standards K-12. They are at the approval stage. The state has deemed it unnecessary to use the word Afrikan American anymore in the standards and they have replaced it with Black. We have an opportunity to let our voices be heard by going to the Georgia Department of Education website www.gadoe.org and taking the survey for feedback of the revised social studies standards and let them know we do not come from Black. We come from Afrika. We have less than 30 days to make a change. Any questions please contact Deacon Travis Edwards.
