Camp Taifa 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll, in a variety of ways, on all of us as individuals, families, communities and nations.

In order to provide a safe space to grieve and contemplate loss, the Center For Afrikan Biblical Studies at First Afrikan Church (CFABS) will observe Camp Taifa (vacation bible school) in the form of a Healing and Grieving Circle on Wednesday, July 28th at 7pm in the FAC Garden.

“Communal grieving offers something that we cannot get when we grieve by ourselves. Through validation, acknowledgement and witnessing, communal grieving allows us to experience a level of healing that is deeply and profoundly freeing. Each of us has a basic human right to that genuine love, happiness and freedom.”

Sobonfu Somé is one of the foremost voices on African spirituality.
