Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites came to her to have their disputes decided. Judges 4:5

This year’s theme is about honoring those ancestors we have lost – to the covid-19 pandemic and police brutality.

We plant a windmill palm to honor our ancestors and as a symbol of the justice we as Afrikan people across the diaspora, are yet to receive and as a reminder of the continued violence, oppression and discrimination we face in our daily lives.
