2017 NSAA Cultural and Educational Excellence Recognition Service

Nominations for educators, students and community practitioners who consistently demonstrate excellence in their pursuit for cultural power and intellectual growth will be accepted until Sunday, June 4, 2017. Please remember the NSAA Award is for those persons who have demonstrated excellence beyond their own families or personal goals.
Those selected from our community to receive the NSAA Award for Cultural and Educational Excellence are persons who have a vision of excellence and have chosen to manifest this vision of Afrikan excellence in their lives. Two recipients will be selected from the categories that follow:

Categories of Excellence are:

  • NSAA-Excellence in Educational Leadership -(these are professors, administrators, college presidents, directors, organizers and founders, etc)
  • NSAA-Excellence in Educational Pursuit -(these are students in non-academic areas like the performing arts, visual media, technology, occupational ed.);
  • NSAA-Excellence in Cultural Development-(these are persons who keep the culture alive e.g.,
    artists, musicians, curators, librarians, storytellers, etc);
  • NSAA-Excellence in Educational Advocacy- (these are persons who advocate for and protect the welfare of families and children, youth, teens);
  • NSAA-Excellence in Educational Service- (these are persons who do not work for any established institution yet provide educational services ( e.g., home care, home school in an excellent fashion, tutoring, apprenticeships, etc.)
