Based on what we gleaned from our spiritual past, what are we passing on to the next generation?

Sunday, July 28:    Our Afri-centric Future. African Diasporic Literature, as Sacred Text.

Biblical Text: Daniel 1:17

The literature of liberation, cultural identity/personhood

The literature of social, political, economic, environmental, religious justice

What makes a book “sacred/holy”? Literature that impacts the community and our collective cultures.  From Columbus to Castro, Eric Williams    Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe

The People Could Fly, Virginia Hamilton

Pedagogy: Video clips, open discussion, small group discussion, lecture, facilitation.
